The participants at the June 7th event asked dozens of questions, some we were able to answer on the day, and others we were not. Over the next several weeks, I am going to offer more detailed answers to their questions on this blog. How do we apply The Dream Manager concept and principles to our lives, teams, relationships, and companies/organizations was the overall theme of the Q&A sessions. If you have a question that you would like answered, feel free to email me at: mkelly@floydconsulting.com
The Dream Manager Program is a thirty-six module course that my colleagues and I at Floyd Consulting designed to formalize the process described in the book. It is one thing to sit down with your employees and talk to them about their dreams, but if real progress is to be made people need a plan. Most businesses that fail do so because they lack a plan. Most people who fail to accomplish their dreams do so because they lack a plan. It's a little like Napoleon said, "Those who fail to plan can plan to fail."
The Dream Manager Program helps participants to come up with a plan to accomplish their dreams. Each month your Dream Manager will walk you through one of the thirty-six modules. These modules deal with the twelve areas listed on page 124 of the book and are designed to change the way we look at ourselves, our work, our relationships by teaching us to think strategically about our dreams. Between your monthly sessions with your Dream Manager there will be some brief suggested readings and other activities to help you clarify your dreams, and your plan to accomplish them.
I am speaking here of the official Dream Manager Program ,which is owned and licensed by Floyd Consulting. Is the official program really powerful and effective? Yes, absolutely. At the same time, your company may not be willing or able to embark on the formal program at this time. If that is the case, I challenge you... Don't let what you can't do interfere with what you can do. Start circulating copies of The Dream Manager around the office. Have a Dream Session with your team, or a few colleagues over lunch.
We want every company to have a Dream Manager Program(formal or informal). That's why we have made various resources available on this site and at www.floydconsulting.com. For example, you can learn how to facilitate a Dream Session by visiting this link: http://www.floydconsulting.com/Articles-HostASession.asp
The success of your company depends on the people who drive your company. Help them identify and pursue their dreams and you will unleash their passion, energy, enthusiasm, and gratitude. All of this will create a highly engaged team... and that is the ultimate competitive advantage.
What's Your Dream? We are dedicated to helping you identify and accomplish your dreams.
Tell us your dream and Floyd Consulting may make you accomplish it by providing financial support, coaching services, or a unique connection through our vast contacts.
